Veteran politician Koigi wa Wamwere added his voice to the current re- alignments in the political sphere by claiming that President Uhuru Kenyatta had endorsed ODM leader Raila Odinga, at the BBI rally held in Meru on February 29,2020

In a Facebook post shared on March 1, 2020, Koigi, a staunch critic of the late president Daniel Moi explained how Uhuru had endorsed Raila as the 5th president of Kenya.

"At Kinoru Stadium, Uhuru Endorsed Raila for fifth President Of Kenya at Kinoru stadium during the BBI rally through Governor Kiraitu Murungi message to Raila Odinga from President Uhuru," he stated.

The veteran politician was quick to note that, the Governor had referenced the famous Canaan journey and how crocodiles had hindered the passage at river Jordan into the promised land that Raila had promised Kenyans during the 2017 election period.

"If crocodiles in river Jordan stopped Raila from taking Kenyans to Canaan, with Uhuru’s control of crocodiles (Kikuyu ruling class), Raila is now free to take Kenyans to Canaan," he added.

Koigi states that this was Uhuru’s clearest endorsement of Raila for the 5th president of Kenya, after the handshake.

He didn't fail to also kick back on the dynasty reference. He stated that there was a hatched plan to hand over power to Raila Odinga a move that would be overseen by other key dynasty leaders led by Gideon Moi.

"But if Uhuru, the son of Jomo Kenyatta hands power over to Raila, the son of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, is this not actualization of dynasty rule supported by Gideon Moi the son of late Daniel Arap Moi who was also at Kinoru stadium?" He questioned.

He says the move by Uhuru to hand over power to somebody who can take Kenyan poor masses to Canaan is long overdue.

Koigi explains in the post that it will be important to understand how Uhuru sees this transition but added that imminent danger was looming if people like Murathe, Uhuru's close ally and confidant continue being part of the BBI initiative.

"With Uhuru’s support for Raila, is it not logical that Raila is now working with Uhuru’s closest insiders like David Murathe? Will these Uhuru’s advisors advise Raila better than they advised Uhuru?" he questioned.

According to Koigi wa Wamwere, for Kenya’s third liberation to be a success, Kenyans must look away from Uhuru and Raila, he noted that the two leaders care for themselves only.
