This notification comes hours after another that informed that a section of Lang'ata Road from Uhuru Gardens to Nyayo Stadium Roundabout will be closed on one side on Saturday, March 14, from 7.00 am.

According to a notice posted on local dailies on Thursday, March 12, the roads will be closed to pave way for the Run for the Bibless (RFTB) 2020 Marathon.

"Traffic will be affected in Mai Mahiu Road, Muhoho Avenue, Kiganjo Avenue and part of Mombasa Road from the South C Flyover," the notice reads.

It further indicates that Motorists who wish to access the Lang'ata Road from Mombasa Road would be required to use the Southern By-Pass using the exit at Ole Sereni Hotel.

"RFTB2020 Run is scheduled for 14th March 2020. It shall be a 10KM Run and 4KM walk," the organizers announced.

The marathon is an annual event that attracts representatives from different churches, organisations, schools, universities, and even Members of Parliament.

The 2018 chapter of the Marathon was graced by Deputy President William Ruto who flagged off the 4km walk and the 10km run.

Run for the Bibleless (RFTB) was started in the year 2008 with the aim of casting vision among the young people, raising funds through registrations to support Bible Translation Literacy's work.

It was also started with a view to creating awareness about BTL’s mission of facilitating Bible translation and sustainable literacy among small language groups in Kenya and beyond.

The closure of the sections of the road comes hot in the heels of a closure of 7 roads on March 8, to pave way for the Beyond Zero Marathon.
