At the time, the report read that Nkirote was taking a bath when the incident took place.

“Upon coming back, she found the deceased unconscious and a Red Cross ambulance came to rescue him but unfortunately he was confirmed dead,” reads an excerpt from the report.

The deceased's body was taken to the Kenyatta University Funeral Home for postmortem examination.

Investigations into the matter have since been launched.

Njoroge's sudden death came three days after a 55-year-old man collapsed and died while walking towards a stage on the Mwingi-Garrisa Road.

The man's daughter, Teresia Kavindu, who was walking with him when he collapsed, disclosed that Justus had complained of breathing problems and chest pain.

Witnesses stated that they saw the man suddenly fall and rushed to the scene to see what was happening.

At the same time, on March 23, 2020, a 30-year-old passenger was aboard a Mombasa-bound bus from Nairobi when he reportedly started coughing before he collapsed and died in what was speculated to be a heart attack.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Mount Kenya University (MKU) Head of Community Health Department, Ruth Mbugua, stated that sudden deaths may be related to heart conditions.

"Most people collapse mainly because of a heart attack which emanates from loss of blood supply to the heart muscles mainly resulting from blockage of the coronary arteries.

"The main symptom is angina which is a sharp stabbing pain in the chest which radiates from the back," Mbugua stated.

Some of the symptoms of a heart attack include shortness of breath, fatigue, sudden dizziness and nausea among others.
