Citizen TV News Anchor Lillian Muli, took some time off the studio to share her personal experience and tough life lessons on her Instagram page.

She opened the floor for her followers to ask her anything and when the subject of relationships came up, the renowned news anchor actually ended up narrating how 2 abusive relationships ended up serving her with the most important lesson to date.

"It is so sad to see so many people in pain. I have seen all your messages and for those who have lived through that and overcome, I am so happy for you. I have to go to bed now but after going through the same at least twice in my life, I realised I was attracting the same characters in my relationships because I was attracted to a certain type.

"You must put an end to attracting a certain type. Take time to heal and then really take time before you open up to someone close," she advised.

A firm believer in the "Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly" mantra, Lillian has not been known to shy away from accepting her flaws and owning up to her mistakes, a trait she explained had played a huge role in becoming the woman she is today.

She made the headlines a few years ago for all the wrong reasons, but she proudly said that this was all part of her journey and healing.

"I went through different seasons. I surrounded myself with cliques and of course, I thought I could hide my pain by going out and having a good time but when you get home, the loneliness hits you hard emotionally," she once confessed.

It was during this phase that she was captured on camera screaming at a patron in a restaurant, she was at the very tipping point and depressed at the time.

The bubbly news anchor has come a long way and is currently in a happy place.

“When the Rona (Coronavirus) is over, I am 100 per cent sure I will be a different Lillian, and I'm not mad about that,” she vowed.

She also admitted to having felt like she wasted 6-years of her life in a relationship with the wrong person, but that she had made peace with it and decided to use it as a lesson.

“Lol. You and me both, honey! Mine, six wasted years. You will love again,” she responded to one of her followers who narrated how she had thrown 2 years down the drain in a relationship that was simply not working.
