"There was a lot of soil. I tried looking where the kids were sleeping and I did not find them there. All I could only see soil," narrated the heartbroken mother.

"I could hear the water fill the place. I left the house and I fell into a ditch. I ran and called my brother to help me," she continued.

Her husband, Wycliffe Osiemo, expressed his sorrow in losing his two children and a source of livelihood as his land parcel was rendered useless by the landslide.

"They were the only children I had. Even the land has been destroyed. I could not even bury the children on the parcel of land.

"It is my brother who offered me a piece of land where I laid them to rest," he stated.
