When National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale got spared in the purge targeting Deputy President William Ruto’s allies from plum parliamentary offices, little did he know that another storm was just around the corner.

All indications were that he would be replaced by Amos Kimunya as majority leader, that was until the Kipipiri MP got appointed to serve as the secretary of the Jubilee Coalition Joint Parliamentary Group.

However, Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket has now detailed plans to oust National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale when Parliament resumes on Tuesday next week.

Kamket revealed that a threshold has been met to oust Duale after the required number of signatures were collected, and will be tabled in Parliament accordingly.

"We have already attained the threshold, we expect Honorable Duale to be out of office. If I were him I would have resigned by now because he is not going to survive.

"Majority members of the Jubilee coalition have already signed including the Party whip who is going to present the resolution to Parliament when we meet on Tuesday," explained Kamket.

The MP revealed that the provisions of their standing order number 19 is very simple on the process of removal of the Majority Leader.

He noted that they do not need to go for a second PG meeting and all that is needed is for the PG to give the resolution of the majority of Jubilee Coalition MPs.

Kamket added that some people misinterpreted what President Uhuru Kenyatta meant and they are within their rights as leaders to go-ahead to collect signatures to remove the Leader of Majority.

In the Parliamentary Group meeting, he noted that Members of Parliament were very satisfied with everything except one thing, the way the issue of Majority Leader was handled.

As the Jubilee purge continues, Kamket expects Duale to follow in the footsteps of Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who was ousted as the Senate Majority Leader.

"The resolution is ready with us and so I expect Mr. Duale to follow the footsteps of his brother Murkomen, let them go and Tanga Tanga as they have always been saying.

"There is no allegation, he has simply lost the confidence of majority of members. There is nothing, Duale is my friend and there is nothing personal," noted Kamket.

Murang'a County Women Representative Sabina Chege on Saturday, June 6 sent out a message to President Uhuru Kenyatta, asking him to replace National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.
