Ministry of Health acting Director-General Patrick Amoth intervened for a man to obtain his missing Covid-19 results.

During his online question and answer session dubbed #AskAmoth, the DG assisted Festus Kimatu to receive his results that went missing.

"I was tested three weeks ago and till now, no results. I have mailed you, tweeted you to no avail," replied Festus on Amoth's tweet.

Amoth replied to Festus asking him to avail his details so the ministry could conduct a proper follow-up to ensure that he gets his results without delay.

"Kindly let us know where the sample was collected and date of sample collection, to help us track and assess this immediately," wrote Amoth.

Kimatu noted that he could not remember the exact date but it was on a Wednesday and was tested at Eastleigh St Teresa boys around mid-May and was patient number 20.

The Director-General assured Festus that his results will be sent and also took time to offer his apologies for the delayed results.

"Dear Festus, this issue has now been resolved and your results sent to your email. Confirm receipt. Apologies for any inconvenience and thanks for raising this on our #AskTheDG session," he replied.

Festus Kimatu was tested on Wednesday, May 20 but failed to get his results despite providing accurate contact details to health care officials and has been complaining about not getting his results.

"I gave my contacts accurately on Wednesday and till now I don't have my results. The problem is with You. Where are my results? I've tried asking and no one bothers. Sad Kenyan," read his tweet dated Sunday, May 24.

The country has had challenges in its mass testing drive with a global shortage of reagents making it impossible to screen a large number of the population.

On Wednesday, June 3  Dr. Aman lamented the backlog currently witnessed in testing samples and relaying the results on time.
