Kalenjin leaders drawn from the South Rift professionals group have urged Deputy President William Ruto to put a hold to his 2022 elections campaigns.
The group was speaking in Bomet where they called for Ruto to channel his energy to delivering Jubilee promises to Kenyans instead of campaigning.
"I would like the Deputy President to really understand the Presidency and leave his wayward allies who think that they can begin campaigning for 2022.
"It is not yet time, we still have two years to go, we need development," noted one of the leaders from the South Rift Professionals group.
The group also voiced their support for the changes made by President Uhuru Kenyatta in the party's Parliamentary leadership the saw the ouster of several Ruto allies from key positions.
The leaders said that the President was justified in his actions as Ruto has actively sabotaged his efforts at uniting the country towards a common goal by engaging in succession politics.
They also hit out at politicians they described as having 'failed' in the Jubilee Party and were coming up with new political outfits.
"Jubilee members who opined for having failed to deliver in their parties should stop forming other political parties and mainstream their work to service delivery.
"I don't want as a citizen of this country to hear a party being formed that goes against the president's vision of this country," stated the leader of the group.
They also highlighted the unfulfilled projects in the region such as roads, construction of dams and factories.
Ruto has been sidelined in government after a number of his allies were kicked out of Parliamentary positions with Garissa Township MP Aden Duale being the latest after his ouster from his National Assembly Leader of Majority position.
Jubilee Party members loyal to Ruto have also formed Jubilee Asili which they claim is a separate party office to conduct their meetings as they are not allowed in the Jubilee Headquarters.
