Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's antics were on full display supreme at the Senate on Wednesday, July 15, when he appeared for grilling.
In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the hearing had gone for a recess and the governor was walking out when the County Public Accounts and Investment Committee (CPAIC) Chairman Sam Ongeri offered him and his team lunch.
On this invitation, the governor would walk back to his microphone and instead of either declining or accepting the offer, he chose to request directions to the Senate bar.
"Governor, I am sorry we didn't offer you lunch, you are free to join this lunch which has been served and I think it is almost lunchtime. So you can take lunch governor," offered Ongeri.

"Maybe if I may ask, where is the bar for the Senate?" asked Sonko to which ongeri informed him that there was no bar for the Senate.
This sparked laughter in the committe room by members who perhaps recalled Sonko's days as Nairobi Senator between 2013 and 2017, and would have been expected to be well acquainted with Senate ammenities.
At the end of the grilling, the governor also turned heads with his typical expensive attire and an elaborate entourage.
The governor got into a Cadillac Escalade (which has been estimated to cost above Ksh7 million) that was part of a convoy of pricey vehicles.
This comes barely a week since he took his new ride on the road on Friday, July 3, when he was seen test-driving himself.
After a long period of driving, the governor decided to take a break at a facility along the road.
The 2020 Cadillac Escalade is a full-size, body-on-frame luxury SUV available in four trim levels: base, Luxury, Premium Luxury and Platinum.
All Escalade models are equipped with a 6.2-litre V8 engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission.
