The body of Michael Odhiambo, the brother of Suna West MP Peter Masara, was on Wednesday, August 12, found decomposing in his rental apartment.
Odhiambo's body was found laying in bed after neighbpours reported a foul smell enamating from his house.
The legislator's brother is said to have been living alone in Migori while his family members lived in Gwasi, Homa Bay County.
Area Assistant Chief, Charles Ouma, confirmed the incident and indicated that officials got word at around 5 p.m. and drove to the scene.
“We are yet to establish what may have caused his death. The only thing we found in the house is a [hand] sanitiser," Ouma stated.
Police officers have since launched investigations into what could have led to Odhiambo's death.
The body of the deceased was taken to Migori County Referral Hospital mortuary.
Masara has been the Suna West MP since 2017 when he was elected on an independent ticket.
Meanwhile, a man was on Thursday, August 13, rushed to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu after he collapsed at Prosperity House.
The man is said to have developed breathing difficulties before he collapsed.
County County Government Health officers took the man to hospital following the incident.
