Seven years later, he disclosed how his life changed to a point he did not think it was necessary to complete his university degree.

Speaking during an episode of The Wicked Edition on Friday, August 28, he explained that he almost dropped out of Multimedia University where he was studying journalism.

"You can imagine I was being overwhelmed by allowance at the same time I was doing many gigs that were bringing in income," he recalled his first year of campus.

He had already helped his mother invest in her business and had more money than he could spend.

He made a cameo appearance on Citizen TV's Inspector Mwala and also bagged gigs with top supermarkets and a telecommunication company in Kenya.

"I told my mentor that I was comfortable with where I was in life and I didn't need any more education," he disclosed.

"I was handed over to the Kenyatta Trust and that time I was still engulfed by the fame and they helped me adjust. They told me 'here you are not a celebrity, we want to make you a better person'," Owira explained.

He clarified that contrary to many people's expectations, his adoption did not come with added security detail and personal staff.

Speaking about the pressure that comes with being associated with the president, he explained that he had learned to deal with how people perceived him.

Very often Owira receives requests from people who ask him to address President Kenyatta on their behalf.

At one time social media was a buzz with claims that he had been neglected because one if his neighbours saw him buying githeri from a local trader.

"I had just missed eating beans and so I went to the shop to buy githeri and someone saw me and started spreading the rumours," he stated.

Currently, Owira is the digital content producer at Oakwood Branding, which focus on digital marketing.
