Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has led a group of women Parliamentarians in criticising Deputy President William Ruto and his allies for launching insults at Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

The women leaders broke their silence despite DP Ruto scolding Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi for disrespecting President Uhuru Kenyatta's mother.

Waiguru and Kiambu Women Representative Gladys Wamuchomba accused Ruto of hypocrisy by reprimanding Sudi yet he was reportedly the mastermind behind the seemingly coordinated attacks.

"Let them direct their responses and attacks at fellow politicians. They should also understand that freedom comes with responsibility. As women of Kenya, we demand civility and respect in general," Waiguru stated during a press conference in Nairobi on Tuesday, September 8.

Wamuchomba added that the remarks made by Oscar Sudi and Emurua Dikir MP Johanna Ng'eno before he was arrested were tantamount to spearheading war and chaos.

The vocal MP demanded the arrest of Oscar Sudi too followed by a public apology to Mama Ngina Kenyatta.

"We note that they are a recipe for chaos, regional hatred and bloodshed which affect women, children and the vulnerable. We ask for legal action.

"Mama Ngina has never appeared in any ballot box and is not qualified for the attacks. Someone is behind the speeches and we want to know their motives," Wamuchomba declared.

Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji on Tuesday, September 8 stated that Ng'eno will face incitement charges for harshly criticising President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Haji stated that he had sufficient evidence to initiate the prosecution of the MP under the National Cohesion and Integration Act, 2008 and the Penal Code, Cap 63, Laws of Kenya.
