The film industry is mourning the death of one of their own, Pretty Mutave.

The news of her demise was shared on social media pages on Tuesday, September 15, by Citizen TV anchors Lulu Hassan and Rashid Abdalla.

"Japo kazi ya Mungu haina makosa lakini msiba hauna mazoea. Pretty Mutave kipaji chako kikawe nuru kwa malaika. Mola ailaze roho yako pema peponi Inshallah. Heshima na kipaji chako vitadumu milele.

"(We will not question the Lord's doing, may your talent be a light among the angels. May the Lord rest your soul in peace. Your respect and talent will live forever)," Abdalla wrote.

On her part, Lulu stated, "We had plans but God had better plans. Rest well, rest with the Angels pretty..Inallilahi wa ina illayhi Rajiun.

At the time of publishing, the cause of her death had not been disclosed.

Mutave has starred in numerous films including; Udhalimu, Arosto, Kijakazi, Moyo, Maza and Aziza.

Aziza, a swahili drama series, aired on Citizen TV and was produced by Lulu and Rashid's production company, Jiffy pictures.

Fans of the late actress have since flooded her social media pages with messages of condolences to her friends and family. 

Mutave's death came two months after Popular Citizen TV actor Charles Bukeko known to many as Papa Shirandula passed on.

Shirandula died aged 58 on July 18, 2020 at the Karen Hospital.

He is survived by his wife Beatrice Ebbie Andega, and three children; Tony, Charlie and Wendy.
