They say that all it takes to stand out is unique content and as it looks, H-Town Kids, popular for reenacting movie and TV scenes, are winning on that front.

On Sunday, September 20, NTV turned its camera to the hyper group to film their re-enaction of the broadcaster's acclaimed news bulletins that feature media heavyweights like Mark Masai.

The children use a few items to recreate scenes from big budget movies including Black Panther, music videos as well as hilarious video advertisements.

When the NTV team arrived, the children were in the middle of setting up an open studio using pieces of linen bearing colours similar to those of the station's brand.

Others were busy passing around wigs and clothes to two young kids tasked with dressing the cast in near perfect imitation of the station's anchors ready for action.

The team's manager, Rose Mwaura, disclosed that she founded the group as a way of keeping young people busy during the holiday season.

"If you are not careful, many children lose track in these ghetto (slum) streets. We started this initiative during holidays to keep the children busy," she explained.

She further disclosed that it takes approximately two days to train, prepare and re-create the scenes which are then edited and uploaded on their social media pages using her phone.

The team, which was created in 2019, however, still faces production challenges with the main being the lack of a laptop to edit the videos quickly.

"We would appreciate if someone came through for us; like donate a laptop to help make our work easier. We would also like to have some Bluetooth speakers for our dancers," she added.

One of the children, Itana Njeri, who appeared in the video impersonating NTV anchor Simriti Vidyarthi, disclosed that she has learnt a lot since joining the group.

"I have learnt many things including names I had never heard of before," she disclosed expressing her urge to become an actress.

Previously, the group imitated politician, Citizen TV's Maria show intro as well as popular Ramogi FM advertisement that went viral.
