Residents of Kawangware 56 estate in Nairobi on Monday, October 12, engaged the police in running battle as they took to the streets to express their concerns over rising cases of insecurity in the area.
Reports indicated that a group of youth took to the streets following the mysterious death of a boda boda rider in the area.
The protestors alleged that the rider was arrested by uniformed police before his body dead was found lying at the City Mortuary.
Residents claim that the body was taken to the morgue after it was discovered in Kibra slum.
"We cannot go on living like this. Erico (victim) is not the first one to get arrested and then disappear under mysterious circumstances. We are in a lot of pain as we found his body dumped next to the railway track in Kibra," one of the protestors told the media
The police used teargas to disperse the group that was hurling stones at the officers while demanding justice for their friend.
The residents lit tyres and blocked roads in the area as they battled police.

Four rights groups are suing the government over alleged killings and human rights violations by members of Kenya's police force during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The human rights groups are seeking legal reforms and monetary compensation on behalf of victims.
The groups, Amnesty International Kenya, International Justice Mission Kenya, Haki Africa and the Kituo cha Sheria, accused the police of using the nighttime curfew to violate rights of victims at a critical time.
