"Take note that the permission for fundraising for Nyamria South Sub-county Boda Boda Sacco scheduled for Thursday 15th October 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Sironga Sports Ground to be presided over by the Deputy President His Excellency William Ruto has been granted," read part of the letter from Sasura.

Ruto was however advised to comply with the directives by National Security Advisory Committee (NSAC) and in accordance with the Public Order Act Chapter 56.

The gathering was also ordered to adhere to the health protocols issued by the Ministry of Health in regards to Covid-19.

The Deputy President was urged to work with police officers to ensure that law and order is maintained.

Ruto was notified that he would be held responsible for any acts of lawlessness and disorder that may arise from the function.

The second function is a fundraiser at a church in Nyamasebe which was approved by OCS Elam Esendi.

"This office received your above letter notifying your intention to hold a Sadaka collection in respect of Nyamasebe District.

"This is to notify you that your request has been granted and you will cooperate with the police to ensure that security is maintained throughout the function," read the letter from Esendi.

Cabinet approved the security measures that were announced by Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, which put in place new requirements for public gatherings, media reporting and social media.

This comes on the back drop of police dispersing Ruto's supporters at Kebirigo High School and Nyangoge Primary School grounds in Nyamira County on Thursday, October 8 leading to their postponement.
