Parents of a class eight pupil who resides in Kenyatta, Nairobi County are in distress after their daughter went missing on Sunday, October 11, a day before school re-opening.
Winnie Helu, a student at Alara boarding primary school in Nyakach, was last seen by her parents on Sunday, before she went out to play with other children.
Four days later, however, she is yet to be traced.
Her parents believe that trouble started brewing when the 13-year-old started attending free online classes. Though they did not capture the name of the app she was using, the parents say that she would sit for exams which would be marked and returned back to her.
"All was well from March to June and I could occasionally peep into her room and see that she was busy. However, in August, I saw her with an unidentified man" Samuel Helu, her father narrated.
The parents sought to know who the man was but she could not give a clear response.
"She said that the man she was walking with on that day was the brother of one of her friends," Violet Helu, the mother stated.
The distraught parents have since pleaded with Kenyans to help them find their missing child.
"Please tell us where our daughter is," Violet stated as she broke into tears.
The case has since been reported at the Kenyatta National Hospital Police station and investigations are underway.
The incident came barely two weeks after a father requested Kenyans to help trace his 13-year old daughter who got lost in the Nairobi Central Business District.
Joseph Aoko narrated that on the said day, he and his 13-year-old daughter, Monicah Atieno, had travelled from Umoja estate to Nairobi CBD, to make travel arrangements to Mombasa County.
However, on getting to the city, his daughter was never to be seen again.
Aoko would report the matter on August 7, 2020, at the Central Police Station in Nairobi, under the OB number 102/07/08/2020.
