Kiambu Woman Rep Gathoni Wa Muchomba rushed to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to report that her life was in danger.
The lawmaker stated that there were individuals who had been sending her death threats on her social media pages for her stand on the recently launched Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
"I request for protection. If anything happened to me as I sell BBI they are squarely to blame, Pray for me," Gathoni stated.
The MP alleged that those who were threatening her were using coded language in their threatening messages.
"I am not taking the threats lightly, my life is in danger," she stated.
Gathoni has since asked the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to provide enough security for her.
Already, the Woman Rep stated that one of the suspects was in custody after he was charged in a court in Gatundu.
The MP's concerns came just days after she was heckled by a hostile crowd in Githunguri, Kiambu County for campaigning for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
The residents maintained that they wanted development in the area but were not ready to support the BBI.
Despite her numerous questions and request to the residents to support the document, the crowd stood their ground. They were not ready to support the report.
"You do not want to support the document but you want money. How then will you get the money?" she posed as the crowd responded saying that they wanted the money.
"You do not want additional bursary funds?" she posed as the residents responded saying they did not.
