Kenya has recorded 644 more Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours as the country's total caseload rises to 90,305.
At the same time, 1,060 patients recovered; 910 were discharged from the home-based care program and 150 from the hospital around the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 71,254.
In a statement on Thursday, December 10, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that 6,811 samples had been tested over the period bringing the total number of samples tested so far to 952,134.
Of the positive cases, 407 are male and 237 are female while the youngest case is a one-year-old baby and the oldest is aged 90.
Regrettably, 16 patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 1,568.
994 patients are admitted to various health facilities in the country while 7,844 are in home-based care program.
55 are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 27 of whom are on ventilatory support and 27 on supplementary oxygen. One is on observation.
Distribution of the cases by Counties: Nairobi 158, Kiambu 69, Mombasa 67, Murang'a 56, Taita Taveta 36, Nakuru 31, Meru 26, Bungoma 19 and Laikipia 19.
Busia 17, Kakamega 15, Makueni 13, Uasin Gishu 12, Tharaka Nithi 11, Kericho 11, Kilifi 10, Lamu 9, Kajiado 9, Kitui, Bomet and Kirinyaga each had seven cases each.
Isiolo and Machakos counties had 5 cases each, Kisumu 4, Turkana 4, Kwale 4, Kisii 4, Nyeri 2 and Nandi 2.
Garissa, Embu, Baringo, West Pokot and Siaya all recorded one case each.
