More Deaths as Covid-19 Cases Rise to 92,055

Kenya has recorded 163 more Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours as the country's total caseload rises to 92,055.

In a press statement on Monday, December 14, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that 2,283 samples had been tested in the last 24 hours.

Regrettably, 6 patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 1,593.

Of the positive cases, 84 are male and 79 are female, while the youngest case is a one-year-old child and the oldest is aged 88 years.

At the same time, 424 patients have recovered with 378 discharged from the home-based care program and 46 from the hospital around the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 73,452.

Currently, there are 960 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide and 6,581 on Home Based Isolation and Care.

49 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 27 of whom are on ventilatory support, and 20 on supplemental oxygen. 2 are on observation.

Another 46 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen out of whom 37 are in the general wards. Nine are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Distribution of the case by Counties is as follows: Nairobi 94, Kiambu 15, Homa Bay 8, Uasin Gishu 7, Nakuru 6, Machakos 4, Murang'a 3, Kisumu 3, Trans Nzoia 3, Mombasa 2.

Kajiado 2, Meru 2, Laikipia 2, Kakamega 2, Isiolo 1, Makueni 1, Bungoma 1, Migori 1, Nyandarua 1, Tharaka Nithi 1, Kirinyaga 1, Embu 1, Narok 1 and Vihiga 1.

In terms of Sub County Distribution: the 94 cases in Nairobi are from Lang'ata 11, Starehe and Westlands 10 cases each, Kibra 9, Ruaraka 8, Embakasi Central 7, Embakasi East and Makadara 6 cases each.

Embakasi West and Kasarani 5 cases each, Roysambu 4, Dagoretti North , Kamukunji and Mathare 3 cases each, Embakasi North 2, Dagoretti South and Embakasi South 1 case each.
