Kenya has recorded 154 more Covid-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours as the country's total caseload rises to 94768.
Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday, December 22, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that 3,262 samples had been tested in the last 24 hours.

Regrettably, 3 patients succumbed to the disease bringing the total number of deaths to 1,647.
At the same time, 162 patients have recovered with 133 discharged from the home-based care program and 29 from the hospital around the country bringing the total number of recoveries to 76,222.
Currently, there are 835 patients admitted in various health facilities countrywide and 3,740 on Home Based Isolation and Care.
43 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 22 of whom are on ventilatory support, and 22 on supplemental oxygen while another 1 are on observation.
Another 27 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen out of whom 23 are in the general wards. 4 are in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
Kagwe appealed to striking healthcare workers to resume work to allow for negotiations with the government and counties on terms.
He added that the strike was a sign of bad faith on the part of healthcare workers, stating that the delay of salaries was happening in all sectors and not just in healthcare.
The Health CS stated that County Governments have provided comprehensive insurance cover for their employees including healthcare workers.
He directed the NHIF management to expedite the declaration and contracting process for some additional 348 facilities in process to ensure that they are available to offer services to NHIF beneficiaries in the soonest possible time.
Kagwe also stated that the ministry of health has written to the COG requesting the county governments in liason county department of social protection to identify the poor and vulnerable households for enlisting progressively to the UHC scheme as beneficiaries.
He stated that it would ensure that most vulnerable groups are cushioned appropriately as with an NHIF card, they can access cards they can access services in thousands of private facilities.
