Julius Wambua, the man who was allegedly framed for defiling his daughter, shared details of his life in jail and after serving ten years, came out saying he still loves his ex-wife though she pushed for his arrest and conviction.
Speaking to Radio Jambo's Massawe Japanni on Thursday, January 14, Wambua responded to his former spouse's, Jacqueline Nzilani, remarks where she claimed that she did not need his forgiveness.
Nzilani spoke to Kenyans.co.ke on Tuesday, January 12, reiterating that Wambua was guilty despite the court quashing the charges.
"I heard her speaking to one of the media houses and that is her stance. I still love her, she was my wife. Even though we have never spoken since she terminated our marriage and saw me convicted. She never even visited me in court.
"I used to wish her evil but I forgave her and my daughter (Dorcas Mwende) too, when I got saved in jail," Wambua said.
Wambua also shared insights into his life in jail, disclosing that he used to cry almost every night whenever he thought about spending the rest of his life behind bars.
His friends deserted him and only his mother, the brother and his sister-in-law visited him once in 10 years.
Wambua's personality won the hearts of convicts and warders at Kamiti Maximum prison and he was tasked with heading a cleanliness unit and a department within the library.
After being released from jail, former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile gave him a parcel of land and has been helping him rebuild his life. Other Kenyans donated money and a motorbike.
Wambua said that he was still struggling to adapt to his new life and urged well-wishers to continue supporting him.
"Life is difficult. I am a father and I still have to provide. Let anyone who can chip in do so. I have a dream to build a rehabilitation centre for ex-convicts and the society members and I would appreciate all kinds of support," Wambua told Jappani.
