DCI detectives in Bungoma are investigating the death of a 39-year-old woman who was found dead on Sunday, January 31, evening.

The woman identified as Sarah Kimarong was found dead in her rental house.

Police stated that her brother had tried reaching her on phone but found it switched off, prompting him to go to her house to investigate.

"The brother became suspicious after he tried to reach her on phone in vain. He then headed to her house where he was met with a padlock to the outside,” the statement from DCI read.

She was an employee at the Deputy County Commissioner’s office in Bungoma.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of death, with the DCI asking Kenyans to relay any known information to their toll number 0800722203.
