A suspension bridge in Kitengela is currently described as one of the scariest by the brave visitors who crossed the suspended, swaying bridge.

Linking Kitengela Hot Glass to Silole Sanctuary, the bridge hangs approximately 100 metres above a deep river valley.

Crossing it can be nerve-wracking especially when one gets to the middle where the winds are strong, swaying the bridge sideways.

However, the management of Kitengela Hot Glass, assures visitors and customers that the bridge is safe and is regularly maintained to ensure its safety.

The unique tapestry of nature and art was created by Nani Croze, a Dutch artist who settled in the area in the 1970s after falling in love with the surroundings.

Anselm Croze (Nani's son) is now the proprietor of what is now known as Kitengela Hot Glass.

Aside from the scary suspension bridge, visitors are treated to a show of the enchanting glass blowing process used to make kitchenware, ornaments, chandeliers, and other items.

Kenya has its fair share of scary bridges, with the Ol donyo Sabuk bridge the most deadly, described as a health hazard in waiting.

The Ol Donyo Sabuk Bridge separates Kiambu and Machakos counties.

The most recent incident, which left the entire nation reeling in shock, was the discovery of the body of a Member of Baringo County Assembly (MCA) Thomas Minito who represented the Churo Amaiya ward.

Minito's body was found under the Ol Donyo Sabuk Bridge in May 2017, five days after he went missing.

On July 1, 2017, bodies of a Nairobi City lawyer Willie Kimani and that of the taxi driver Joseph Muiruri who was with him at the time he went missing were also found in Athi River at the Ol Donyo Sabuk Bridge.

A better part of the railing on both sides of the infamous bridge is worn out or vandalized.

Swollen River Athi covers the bridge between Ol Donyo Sabuk and Kilimambogo in Thika East.
