147 People Test Positive as Cases Spike

147 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample size of 2,063 tested in the last 24 hours.

This takes Kenya's cumulative confirmed positive cases to 103,014.

In a statement on Monday, February 15, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe disclosed that no fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours, death toll still stands at 1,795.

Total recoveries rise to 85,250 after 242 patients were discharged.

1,227 patients are on the home based care while 254 patients are admitted in various hospitals across the country.

15 patients are on ventilator support and 17 are on supplementary oxygen in the general wards and 2 are on observation. The total number is 34.

151 patients of the recovered patients were in the homebased program and 91 patients were from different health facilities.

Of the 147 individuals who have tested positive for covid-19, 119 are Kenyans while 28 are foreigners.

In terms of distribution of cases per county, Nairobi has 107, Kiambu 9, Mombasa 4, Uasin Gishu 4, Laikipia 3, Kajiado 3, Meru 3, Machakos 2, Makueni 2, Nakuru 2, Nyamira 1, Nyeri 1, Trans Nzoia  1, Busia1, Embu 1, Isiolo 1, Kitui 1,and Kilifi 1.

A cumulative number of 1,243,431 tetsts have been conducted so far.

Kenya has orderd 24 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and they are expected to arrive this month,February.
