Zero Deaths as Covid-19 Cases Rise to 102,867

A total of 75 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample size of 3,025 tested in the last 24 hours. This takes Kenya's cumulative confirmed positive cases to 102,867.

In a statement on Sunday, February 14, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe disclosed that the total tests conducted so far are 1,241,368.

From the positive cases recorded in the last 24 hours, 62 are Kenyans while 13 are foreigners. 48 are male while 27 are female.

The youngest case is of a five-year-old baby, while the oldest is 89 years.

The Standard

Fortunately, No death was recorded in the last 24 hours, pushing the total fatalities in the country to 1,795.

56 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus. 19 are from various health facilities across the country, while 37 are from the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

The total recoveries now stand at 85,008.

There are 347 patients currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 1,275 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care. 33 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 14 of whom are on ventilatory support and 18 on supplemental oxygen.

One patient is on observation. Another 8 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen with all of them in the general wards.

In terms of County distribution; Nairobi led with 51 cases followed by Kiambu 6, Busia 4, Uasin Gishu 2, Mombasa 2, Nyeri 2, Garissa 1, Homa Bay 1, Kirinyaga 1, Meru 1, Murang’a 1, Nakuru 1, Nyandarua 1 and Trans Nzoia 1.

In terms of Sub County distribution; the 51 cases in Nairobi are from Lang’ata and Westlands (7) cases each, Dagoretti North and Kibra (6) cases each, Starehe (4), Mathare and Ruaraka (3) cases each, Embakasi Central, Embakasi East, Kamukunji, Kasarani and Makadara (2) cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi North, Embakasi South, Embakasi West and Roysambu (1) case each.

In Kiambu the 6 cases are from Kiambu Town and Ruiru (2) cases each, Juja and Kiambaa (1) case each. In Busia the 4 cases are from Matayos and Teso North (2) cases each. In Uasin Gishu the 2 cases are all from Ainabkoi. In Mombasa the 2 cases are all from Nyali while in Nyeri the 2 cases are all from Nyeri Central.
