Nairobi politician Karen Nyamu on Wednesday, March 3, said that she did not know that Kikuyu musician Samuel Mucoki alias Samidoh was married.
In an interview on Jalang'o TV, Nyamu disclosed that the musician didn't wear a ring during the whole time they were in a relationship. Nyamu added that she got to know of Samidoh's marriage until nominated Nairobi MCA Mary Njambi, enlightened her.
"I did not know Samidoh was married. I only got to know when Mafiriri MCA told me. She is the one who saw us together and told me that the musician was married.
"I only got to know later when I was already in this thing. I am not playing saint and I am not here to pretend," she continued.
Nyamu, however, added that she had a problem with people tagging her as a homewrecker especially every time Samidoh posted his other children on social media.
"I have been with Samidoh since 2019 but there has not been any drama. It is only until the baby was born that the drama started coming up," Nyamu told Jalang'o.
The politician went ahead to apologise to Samidoh's wife Edith Mucoki.
"I am very sorry for the anguish that I may have caused you and all along I thought you knew because your husband told me you knew. No excuses, I am sorry for everything," Nyamu stated.
Nyamu also stated that she had received numerous calls from influential figures asking her not to engage in the back and forth with the musician's family.
The politician was forced to respond after Samidoh issued a statement on Tuesday, March 2, dismissed speculation that he had left his wife to start a family with the former Nairobi CEC.
"I have put my family and myself in a bad situation. It is true I had a relationship with Miss Karen Nyamu... I have never left my wife of 11 years for another woman, " read Samidoh's Facebook post.
