Popular Mt Kenya Bishop and former Njata TV presenter Bishop Mercy Waciama has passed on.
It is reported that the preacher succumbed to COVID-19 on Tuesday March 16, three days after she was hospitalised since Saturday March 13, at Murang'a level 5 hospital.
Bishop Mercy Waciama is a TV presenter, gospel singer and Bishop at Embracing God Church in Thika, Kiambu County.
Bishop Waciama was a host of Ugi ni umenyo show at Njata TV before she went ahead to launch her own station known as Kiheo TV.
Before her demise, the preacher was asking the faithful to assist her ongoing construction of Embracing God Church in Thika.
“Let’s keep on praying until we see the success of the day for the glory of the lord,” she said via Facebook.
Kenyans went on social media to mourn the Evangelical pastor saying she was a strong woman of God.
Patrick Wainaina, Thika Town MP eulogised Waciama as a great supportive friend and a determined servant of God.
"It is with profound sorrow that I have received the news of the passing on of my family friend Bishop Mercy Waciama of Kiheo TV. May God give her family strength and courage to sail on," he said.
Musicians were not left behind as they mourned their colleague saying death had snatched away which is so unfortunate.
Ben Githae, Kikuyu gospel singer mourned the cleric and said death had taken away a very important woman of God.
"It is so sudden and it has hit us hard that you are no more," wrote Githae on Facebook.
Kenya today is also mourning Radio Citizen Managing Editor Robin Njogu who also succumbed to Covid-19.
