She went missing the same afternoon and efforts to trace her were not fruitful.

Gesare’s father, David Nyaminja, eulogised her as jovial and hardworking. He added that her dream to become a teacher had been prematurely shattered.

The accident is however not the first accident to happen in the scene. Area residents have raised concerns before about the deadly bridge that has in the past four months claimed the lives of three people as seven others recuperate.

The KCPE exams that began on Monday, March 22 have not been all smooth since a couple of tragedies have been witnessed.

On Tuesday, March 23 a KCPE candidate from Pesi Primary School in Nyandarua County died shortly after giving birth.

Reports from the police indicate that she went into labour minutes before the Science paper started at 8.30 a.m.

She was then rushed to the Pesi Dispensary where shortly after giving birth she suffered some complications and had to be rushed to the Nyahururu County Referral Hospital where she passed on shortly after admission.

Another tragedy involving a candidate who was to sit for the national exams happened on Monday, March 22 when the body of a 26-year-old Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE) candidate was found under circumstances suspected to be suicide.

Police reports indicate that the candidate attempted to commit suicide on Saturday, March 21 but he was rescued by relatives.

The KCPE examinations began Monday, March 22, and are set to end today Wednesday, March 24.
