Kenya has recorded 334 new Covid-19 cases from 4,155 tests conducted over the past 24 hours. The positivity rate now stands at 8%, dropping from Wednesday's 10.8%.
In a statement released on Thursday, May 13, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that the country's cumulative numbers had risen to 164,720.
From the cases, 329 are Kenyans while 5 are foreigners. 206 are male and 128 are female. The youngest is a 28 day-old-infant while the oldest is 104 years.
124 individuals recovered from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, 39 from various health facilities countrywide while 85 from home-based and isolation care.
Total recoveries now stand at 113,248 of whom 82, 298 are from Home Based Care and Isolation while 30,950 are from various health facilities.
Unfortunately, 18 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours, 15 having occurred diverse dates within the last one month. Cumulative fatalities now stand at 2,968.
1,021 patients are admitted to various health facilities in the country while 4,840 are on home-based isolation and care. 117 are in the intensive care unit 23 of who are on ventilatory support.
74 patients are on supplemental oxygen, 23 patients are under observation.
Another 92 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 87 in general wards and five in High Dependency Units (HDU).
So far, 930,460 individuals have been vaccinated against the virus.
Of these 282,507 are aged 58 years and above, Health workers, 162,071, Teachers 145,796, Security Officers 78,684 and other 260,403.
