Former KTN and CGTN presenter Robert Soi has passed on after a long illness.
The family confirmed that the sports reporter died on Wednesday afternoon, May 26, at the Nairobi hospital.
Soi had been admitted to the hospital on Thursday, May 20, where he underwent a surgery. He went into a coma until Wednesday when he passed on.
The media personality is survived by his wife Catherine Soi, a journalist at Aljazeera.
Condolence messages have since poured in for the departed scribe.
"Our brother and colleague Robert Soi #Strong. #Tragic Go well brother," Geoffrey Mosoku, a former colleague stated.
"RIP Robert Soi former KTN sports presenter. Once shared a drink with him years ago. Quite friendly, we bumped into each other and hugged like old buddies, yet that was the first time we met. Pole sana Catherine. Genuinely sad to have learnt about Robert`s demise," Tairas Waiyaka stated.
His death came a month after former Taifa leo sub-editor Dennis Geoffrey Mauya, alias Mauya Omauya, collapsed and died
Autopsy results indicated that Omauya succumbed to a cardiac arrest.
The deceased had joined the Nation Media Group in 2007. He, however, left a year after for further studies.
