Media personalities Betty Kyalo and Eric Omondi were under fire after allegations surfaced that they had swindled their audience.

Eric Omondi, when asked why the show stopped, he stated that it was due to technical difficulties experienced during the airing.

About the con allegations, he answered by saying "Betty and I are just hosts. Any person who was not paid should approach Big Quiz Limited. We are just employees."

The Director, Big Quiz Show Limited, Patrick Ojil, issued a statement on Sunday, May 30, confirmed that the show has been discontinued.

He backed Eric Omondi clarifying that the hosts had nothing to do with matters payment.

"The big Quiz Show bears full responsibility for settlement of all winners' dues and is committed to ensuring all the winners have been paid as per the Betting Control and Licensing Board requirements," read the statement.

"It should be noted that two hosts for the show Betty and Eric, therefore, bear no responsibility whatsoever to any dues owed to any winner or any other contractor," mentioned Patrick.

The company reverted by advising individuals who had not received their awards to contact their customer service team.

The Show "The Big Quiz Show" premiered on Sunday, March 21 this year. The first season was expected to run for 13 weeks with 100 winners every week. The top winner would bag up to Ksh1 Million.

However, that did not come to pass as it only lasted six weeks.

It was an interactive game show, which means that the public could participate as the show was live.

As of last week, the show was not aired. The sudden stop raised questions about what had transpired.

Shortly after, a lady claimed to have been conned. She stated that by the time the show stopped airing, she had not received her prize.
