Media celebrity and news anchor Betty Kyallo received a surprise birthday cake from colleagues working on her upcoming show set to be aired on KTN.
The Big Quiz Show crew discreetly planned to have the cake delivered to Betty at her home, with a little help from her personal assistant.
A video captured the event; and showed Betty's daughter and friend Caren Lemein holding the cake and bouquet of flowers as they walked into her bedroom yelling “Surprise”.
Betty, who was in her room preening herself was taken aback for a moment before it registered that the cake was a birthday surprise.
Betty's birthday falls on March 15, and the cake was a welcome surprise.
The trio then proceeded to have lunch at Honey And Dough, a high-end restaurant at the heart of Westlands.
At the hotel, someone also tipped them about Betty’s big day as she was served a piece of cake on a plate that had the words “Happy Birthday Betty Kyalo” written with chocolate cream.
Some of the attendants also gathered around her to sing and take pictures with her.
Betty expressed her gratitude, and said that her daughter Ivannah was the greatest gift in her life.
Betty will be hosting The Big Quiz Show alongside comedian Eric Omondi, beginning March 7.
However, Kenyans.co.ke has since learnt that due to unavoidable circumstances, the show’s premiere episode was rescheduled for March 21.
“I am extremely excited about my new show on KTN Home Channel. I’ve always wanted to Host a Game Show in my TV Career and now my desire has come true! This will be the biggest quiz show in the African continent. Every Sunday 8 pm to 9 pm on KTN! Coming very very soon,” Betty had tweeted.
