President Uhuru Kenyatta and his son Jomo Kenyatta stepped out in matching outfits while attending the revitalization of the 4-K clubs at Jamhuri Park in Nairobi.
Jomo accompanied his father on Friday, June 4, as the President also launched a youth agribusiness capacity building program at the event.
The two were dressed in a white shirt and grey trousers, with Uhuru matching the outfit with a green, yellow scarf white mask and a brown cowboy hat (a patron's attire).
Jomo was pictured alongside his father as they toured various demonstration stands by 4-K Clubs, Young Farmers Clubs and Empowering Novel Agribusiness-led Employment (ENABLE) Kenya beneficiaries.
Uhuru's son, who is married to Fiona Achola is a gifted fashionista at Nomadic, a fashion company he founded with his friends and former schoolmates.
During the event, the head of state pledges to support the youth adding that ENABLE Kenya is a capacity-building initiative for the youth aimed at creating employment, generating income and bridging the succession gap in agribusiness.
The President announced several National government interventions aimed at building the capacity of the youth in agribusiness and urged County Govts and other stakeholders to support the efforts. Some of the interventions included the creation of strategic frameworks for the youth, building preparedness of young people in agribusiness right from primary school through technology.
"We need to equip our young people in schools and out of schools with skills, values and attitudes to enable them to face the complexities of this modern world.
"Today's initiative is part of my government's initiative to create opportunities for youth in different sectors in Kenya," Uhuru announced.
Under the program, 10,000 young agripreneurs will be trained with 50,000 more targeted. The government will provide Ksh2.2 billion to finance youth startups and the agribusiness sector.
4 K is an acronym for Kuungana Kufanya Kusaidia Kenya (Coming together, to Act, in order to Help Kenya), motivated towards enabling and supporting food security in Kenya.
The Cabinet in February 2021 approved the revival of the 4K Clubs in all public and private schools in Kenya. It stated that the reintroduction of the 4K Clubs seeks to usher in a new generation of techno-savvy agricultural players who will revolutionize every aspect of agriculture in Kenya.
