Here are some of the areas within the Nairobi Metropolis that hardly experience water shortage:

Kikuyu

Kinoo is one of the most affordable areas within Nairobi Metropolis. It is located in Kikuyu Constituency, just a 1-hour commute from Nairobi CBD.

Most landlords in this area have boreholes in almost every plot to ensure a continuous water supply that residents enjoy. There are also multiple water points where residents get drinking water without walking for long distances.

This place is known for cheap food and accommodation. Decent mabati structure houses go for as low as Kshs1,500 while block single-rooms range from Kshs3,500 to Kshs4,000. You can get a nice bedsitter with Kshs6,000 a month.

Utawala

Utawala is located right next to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), about 40 minutes from Nairobi CBD.

Ngumo Estate is located next to Ngumo market, just a 20 minutes’ drive from the Central Business District. From the analysis of notices by the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company on water supply interruptions within Nairobi, Ngumo has hardly experienced water shortage for quite some time. 

Tap water commonly used by the residents is readily available with a 20-litre Jerry Can going for Kshs5 only.

Rent rates in the area are also cheap with single rooms ranging between Kshs3,500 and Kshs4,500 while bedsitters go for an average of Kshs7,000.

The accessibility of Ngumo and Kenyatta markets has made food available in the area as well.
