Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany says the only achievements Kenya has realized since the March 9, 2018 handshake are fear, intimidation, and a leadership crisis.

In an interview on Citizen TV on Thursday, August 5, Kositany argued that since President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga entered into an agreement, the country has experienced increased political threats mostly gunned towards those perceived as opposed to the handshake.

"Post handshake, we have achieved intimidation, a lot of battering of the constitution, the rule of law has greatly diminished," stated the MP.

Kositany, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto and anti-Bulding Bridges Initiative crusader, argued that the handshake plunged the country into a leadership crisis with the President constantly sidelining his deputy.

The Soy MP pointed out at the recent happenings including the blocking of the Deputy President from travelling to the neighbouring Uganda, the arrest of judges and Tanga Tanga-allied leaders as the biggest 'achievements' of the handshake.

Kositany noted that post handshake politics have seen a sharp rise in corruption in the country with those involved being let to roam freely, giving an example of the alleged massive graft at the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA).

"...those people are close to the President, but nothing has happened, no one who has been charged with corruption has been convicted," noted the MP.

The lawmaker added that the country has plunged into an economic crisis with the majority of Kenyans unable to meet the rising cost of living.

Kositany affirmed that the bottom-up economic model would be the key to bringing money to the grassroots and creating an equal economic playing field for all Kenyans.
