Clash of Titans
Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and his Siaya counterpart James Orengo engaged in a war of words. The clash ensued in the Senate on Thursday, August 5 after Murkomen accused ODM leader Raila Odinga over the incident at Wilson Airport on Monday.
Deputy President William Ruto was blocked from leaving the country.
In what appeared to be a response, Orengo brought forth the school of thought on how revolutions ate their children.
The Company You Keep
ODM has responded to DP Ruto’s recent function at his Karen home. The Raila-led faction accused the DP of opening his doors to characters whose sole mission was to defraud the nation and compromise national security.
Additionally, the Deputy President was accused of being the root cause of Jubilee’s sores and was asked to face President Uhuru Kenyatta without dragging in former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Intense Selection
Out of 660 applicants, President Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated Juliana Cherera, Francis Wanderi, Irene Cherop and Justus Abonyo from a list forwarded to him by the IEBC selection panel.
The names of the four have been submitted to the National Assembly for further scrutiny.

Unforgiving Inferno
Gikomba traders are counting losses amounting to millions of shillings after a raging fire razed down stalls at 12:03 am on Friday, August 6.
In addition to that, the fire also burnt down at least 4 residential flats, forcing decade-old tenants to spend the rest of the night in the cold.
Painful Results
An autopsy conducted by pathologist Martin Mwangi at the Embu Level V hospital morgue has revealed the cause of the death of two brothers. Emmanuel Mutura,19, and Benson Njiru,22, died under mysterious circumstances in Kianjokoma, Embu County.
The autopsy showed that the two died as a result of multiple injuries which could have been caused by a blunt force trauma.
Administrative Reshuffle
The Deputy Inspector General of Police Edward Mbugua has ordered an immediate transfer of 44 police officers from Elgeyo Marakwet County. The officers in the ranks of sergeants and corporals were transferred to police stations in 22 counties namely.
The county has been in the spotlight in the recent past, most prominently in the events leading to the demise of corporal Caroline Kangogo who died by suicide on Friday, July 16.
