ODM Leader Raila Odinga confirmed that his meeting with the President in the coastal town of Mombasa was merely a holiday and no matters of political discourse were discussed by the two.

He clarified to reporters in Mombasa that contrary to the reports by the press and political pundits, the two had no specific agenda but were merely holidaying. 

Museveni Comes To The Aid of Ruto Ally

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni's intervention helped save an ally of Deputy President William Ruto after his accounts were frozen for receiving a huge amount of money.

The Financial Intelligence Authority in Uganda closed accounts belonging to Dei Pharmaceuticals Company arguing that it was unsure where the company was getting its funding from.

During a state of the nation address, Museveni argued he helped step in to save the company that is poised to produce medicine including Covid-19 vaccines for Uganda.

At last, redemption

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) announced a waiver directed to all Kenyans who have accrued penalties and interests.

The Commissioner for domestic taxes Rispah Simiyu confirmed that the taxman was offering a 100 percent waiver on all penalties.

She added that the process could be accessed exclusively through the online iTax portal.

Wolves in Sheep's Clothing

Four schools in Lurambi are counting losses after thieves under the guise of cops broke into their administration blocks and made away with money and properties of unknown value.

The administrators of the four schools called for efforts by the police to get to the bottom of the matter and flush out the unknown thugs.

Watchmen from the schools narrated the ordeal to local media on the happenings of the night as they blamed the police for little action taken.

Police Under The Influence

The Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association (KCPA) blamed the killing of the two Embu brothers to police under the influence of drugs.

Members of KCPA stated that drug abuse among police officers was responsible for their abnormal behaviour while at work during a visit to their family home in Embu

They blamed the use of drugs as the main cause of excessive use of force while in the line of duty.

Never Again

The National Youth Service responded to a viral video circulated widely as their officers assaulted a passenger that was aboard one of their vehicles.

In a statement issued on August 7, the institution said it had taken disciplinary action against the two officers who were recorded on video carrying out the despicable act without regard for the wellbeing of the passenger.
