Laikipia  Women Representative Cate Waruguru has called for the sacking of Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi and his health counterpart Mutahi Kagwe.

She spoke to her constituents on Tuesday, August 31, urging President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure that the legacy is protected from CSs engaging in political campaigns.

According to Waruguru, the Cabinet Secretaries are traversing across the country in the name of developments inspection and Covid-19 announcements yet politicizing.

She accused Matiang'i and Kagwe of letting down the President by campaigning at a time when political gatherings have been called off.

She made it clear that such behaviour at a time Kenyans were healing from BBI loss and the Covid-19 wave, should not be tolerated.

“Mr President, I am in no faction but in the government, we cannot have individuals going around stating they will be President and Deputy President in your kitchen cabinet.”

“It is for this reason that you fired our Mwangi Kiunjuri, do not create a partisan over those who can't be touched and those easily touched," she lamented.

The region of Mount Kenya has been experiencing several political changes with several politicians coming out to defend their ambitions.

It is for this reason that sentiments were made by Waruguru to bring political protection for the region she is coming from.

“The people state with pride in their social media that they were from certain regions and even tarnishing the president’s name. The President has done a lot, look at the infrastructure at Nanyuki town or even Nyahururu, ” Waruguru defended the president.

This is as much as the president is trying to unite the region and maintain his political legacy with the coming end of his term.
