Deputy President William Ruto on Monday, October 4, donated school buses to three learning institutions in Kisii County and the crowd cheered him on to drive one of them.

The DP boarded the driver's side and took hold of the steering wheel but could not move the bus.

As the crowd cheered on, the Deputy President's attempts to move the new bus proved futile.

South Mugirango Member of Parliament, Sylvanus Osoro, tried to guide him but the gear proved to be difficult for the country's second in command.

Ruto, who was in Kisii for a three-day tour, was eventually able to drive the school bus he had donated to Bogichoncho Secondary School.

The DP also addressed parents and learners who came to welcome him and promised to build classrooms for schools in the area.

He stated that his first priority for the country was the resolution of the bad state of the economy and the employment crisis.

During the funds drive for infrastructure development for Bogichincho and Nyakembene Secondary Schools presided by Ruto, Osoro warned residents that they would be disqualified from bursaries if they failed to register in the ongoing voter registration drive.

He told the youth to turn up and register as voters lest they would miss out on the bursaries offered under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Osoro stated that a voters card would be a mandatory requirement during their application for the funds.

"In one month's time, we will be announcing bursaries. Applications will be done using your voter's card and not your national identification card," he stated.

"For the young ones, you are aware that you will need to attach your father's ID card. However, this time you will attach his voting card," the MP continued.
