The national carrier Kenya Airways (KQ) has feted the Central Organization of Trade Unions(COTU) Secretary General, Francis Atwoli for being a loyal customer for close to 50 years.
The ‘Platinum Elite Life-Time Member’ award was given to the trade unionist on Tuesday, October 12.
In a statement by the workers' umbrella body, Atwoli has been consistent in using the airline for close to half a century.
“This recognition is a result of the patriotism to the National Airline considering Dr. Atwoli has been flying with KQ for close to 50 years,” an excerpt from the statement reads.
Led by the Chief Human Resources Officer, Evelyne Munyoki, KQ highly appreciated Atwoli for the continued partnership.
The airline also gifted Atwoli with a free business class ticket, which would let him fly to any destination of his choice.
“The KQ team, led by Evelyne Munyoki who is the Chief Human Resources Officer, thanked the Secretary General for the great partnership and as a result, gifted Dr. Atwoli with a free business class return ticket to any destination of his choice that is serviced by KQ,” the statement reads.
After receiving the award, Atwoli took to his social media platforms, thanking the airline for recognizing him as a loyal customer.
He noted that Kenya Airways has always been his airline of choice, and that over the years, he has received the best service.
“I am extremely grateful for the Platinum Elite Life Member recognition from Kenya Airways. For over 50 years, KQ remains my airline of choice. I would like to thank Evelyne Munyoki and the KQ management for the many years of top notch customer service. Asanteni sana,” Atwoli remarked.
Notably, Atwoli appealed to Kenyans to use the airline, saying that it is not only Africa’s pride, but one of the best in the world.
