Cases of buildings collapsing have been on the rise.
Authorities have accused property owners of ignoring directives issued by the National Construction Authority (NCA) and the county government.
The incident came just days after a man was fatally injured when a building under construction along Parklands 5th Avenue collapses on Thursday, October 7.
The incident left several other people nursing injuries at various health facilities in the city.
Police and other rescue workers moved in to help in the search and rescue mission of any persons trapped in the debris.
Another building in Gachie, Kiambu County, also collapsed on August 30, 2021. Area residents had raised an alarm days before the building collapsed.
The residents say they feared the building had not been well constructed as it was leaning towards one side, posing danger to the labourers at the site.
Their concerns were, however, ignored as the owner replaced the previous contractor with another one who was willing to proceed with the construction despite the safety alarm being raised.
