Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has opened up on the presidential candidate that the Jubilee Party is likely to field in the August 9, 2022 general election.

Speaking during an interview on Monday, October 18, Sakaja hinted that Amani National Congress (ANC) Party Leader , Musalia Mudavadi, could be fronted by Jubilee Party as its presidential flagbearer.

According to Sakaja, the ANC party boss is open to talks and that it was too early to rule out anything in politics.

"You know, Musalia could end up being the Jubilee candidate, or maybe we will forge ties with someone else. People say, politics is not definite," he chided.

The National Alliance (TNA) party chairman added that between now and 2022, many alliances will be formed. While stating that the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) could decide to go for the top seat or forge an alliance with Deputy President William Ruto or Orange Democratic Movement Party Leader Raila Odinga.

Sakaja also stated that he would not be running for governor under ANC, explaining that he only supports the former Vice President as an individual but was still a member of the ruling Jubilee party.

"No, I will not run under ANC. When the time comes, we will know what parties will be there, but currently, Jubilee is my party, I have not left," Sakaja stated.

However, he stated that he would be the best person to solve the problems of the electorate. He added that the people of Nairobi would vote for him regardless of the party he belonged to.

The senator also explained his recent absence from Mudavadi's campaign trail, saying he had been away in the United States of America for about one month.

He added that when he came back, he was in Nairobi, preoccupied with the issues of the people who voted for him.

Mudavadi has however insisted that he would be on the ballot next year. However, OKA is yet to declare who among its principals, ANC's Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya's Moses Wetangula, Wipers's Kalonzo Musyoka or KANU's Gideon Moi will be its presidential candidate.
