Some of the residents narrated that they were only able to save their lives and no single property.

Area Nyumba Kumi elder James Karuri  requested residents to be more careful when handling electric appliances and gas cylinders.

The incident came just days after 300 homes in the informal settlements of Mlango Kubwa in Mathare, Nairobi County, went up in flames.

Two people were confirmed dead following the incident.

Residents disclosed that there was no enough water to put out the fire, hence, leading to its fast spread.
