British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has once again lost one of its talents after reporter, Sharon Machira, called it quits at the broadcaster.

Sources privy to the information told Kenyans.co.ke that the celebrated journalist tendered her resignation after serving at the station for three years.

The source further noted that she was poised to join Google Kenya's communication desk.

The reporter, who went viral after her interview with Kenyan Private detective, Jane Mugo, joined BBC in July 2018 after serving in the same capacity at Mediamax-owned K24 TV.

Reports indicated that she served her final month at the international broadcaster in October.

While at the BBC, the journalist hosted various shows including Life Clinic, She Word, the Breakdown and Kenya Connects

In January, Machira's interview with Mugo went viral turning the detectives performance in the documentary into meme-worthy clips.

Many of the comments after the documentary aired ridiculed the detective's theatrical presentations and absurd claims regarding her prowess.

The interview also provided interesting nuggets of the detective's life from her chef tasting food before she eats, vicious dogs led by one christened Hitler - to beating up the security team to toughen them.

So viral was the documentary that Mugo warned that she was monitoring comments, most of which originated from pseudo accounts.

Machira left K24 TV in 2017 to run her own YouTube channel before she decamped to BBC.

The news anchor has also worked as a show presenter at Homeboyz Radio and held reporting roles at SkyNews, BBC and Vice News.
