The Amani National Congress(ANC) Party Leader, Musalia Mudavadi, has shifted ground over his health status, admitting that in deed he was unwell.

Addressing the press on Sunday, November 14, Musalia, who had not been seen in public for a long time, stated that this has been so because he has been dealing with health issues.

Mudavadi, who had also not been part of the One Kenya Alliance(OKA) rally held in Kiserian, Kajiado County on Sunday, stated that he was aware that his fellow principals were on campaign train, but his medical condition could not allow him to join them.

“I am human and so, I have gone through some medical stress, which I am recovering from, but I’m aware they are having the rallies” the presidential hopeful stated.

In the OKA rally that Mudavadi was conspicuously missing, his co-principals attended a church service at the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Kiserian, held a public rally in Kitengela town, and met other supporters.

Mudavadi who attended the Quakers Friends Church along Ngong Road conveyed his apologies, stating that he will be back on track soon. “I convey my apologies to them,” Mudavadi remarked.

He proceeded to say that the public will not see him for another whole week, since he has not fully recuperated from a health condition, which he did not disclose.

“Up to this weekend, I cannot really engage in public rallies. From next week onwards however, I will be back on course,” he stated.

This is a contradiction of his earlier remarks, on Tuesday, November 9, when the former Vice President stated that he was doing very fine.

Mudavadi, then, came out to clear the air, after widespread  reports about his health hit the airwaves since he had not been seen in public for some time.

What really caused the debate was the fact that he had not attended Moses Wetangula’s  FORD Kenya National Delegates Convention (NDC).

Mudavadi however dismissed the claims, and urged his supporters to calm as he was just taking a break from a series of long political rallies, and he had 9 more months, making him not be in a hurry.

Niko salama kabisa. Watu wasiwe na wasiwasi. Niko Imara Kabisa (I’m very fine. Let people not be anxious. I’m very strong). In a few days’ time, you will see me. There is no problem. I’m strong,” he had earlier stated.
