Ainabkoi Member of Parliament, William Chepkut, has spoken about the accident that saw him hospitalised for over two months. The jovial MP is still on bed rest at a city hospital.

On Monday, November 15, Chepkut narrated how he fell inside a city hotel in July 2021 and was rushed to a health facility in Nairobi, where he received first aid before being discharged.

The MP disclosed that on that fateful day, he tripped off the stair of the hotel and rolled down several metres after missing a step.

“I fainted and was rushed to the hospital where I received treatment and was discharged. I took it lightly and went back home [to rest] before travelling to Uganda to undertake other duties.

“Around the same time, I suffered two other accidents that totally affected me,” he told a local daily.

The accidents also occurred a few weeks after he visited Dubai where a consultant advised him to undergo surgery.

The former Personal Assistant to the late Nicholas Biwott, however, did not disclose the nature of the subsequent accidents but instead focused on narrating the injuries he suffered.

“I fractured my hand and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors stated that I was in critical injury and I was immediately transferred to the Intensive Care Unit,” the Jubilee MP recalled, adding that he was rushed to the theatre, later on, when the issue escalated and underwent a 36-hour surgery.

The doctors repaired his damaged arm and limbs.

Chepkut assured his followers that he would come out stronger. He underlined that he once survived a poisoning incident and would not be deterred on his road to recovery.

Among those who visited him at the hospital include Kapseret MP, Oscar Sudi and Deputy President William Ruto's brother, David Ruto.

"Today we paid a visit to Anabkoi MP Hon. William Chepkut at the hospital where he is treated for injuries sustained after a fall. I wish him a quick recovery," Davide tweeted.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP Ruto personally reached out to the MP, to encourage and motivate him.

Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria, is also undergoing treatment after suffering third-degree burns. Kuria stated that the accident occurred while he was using an electric blanket gifted to him by a friend.
