Days after political strategist and marketer Benji Ndolo protested over the loss of his Audi Q7 luxury vehicle to auctioneers in Nairobi's Central Business District (CBD), he has gone into hiding.

Ndolo told Kenyans.co.ke that he had been receiving a number of calls from unknown individuals, some who were not happy with him protesting along Ngong Road.

He added that some of his friends had advised him to leave town and lay low, as authorities conduct investigations.

"I have been advised to leave town and lay low for a bit as my people do a thorough risk assessment," Ndolo stated.

The strategist troubles began in 2017 when he bought an Audi Q7 from his friend's car yard in a bid to promote his business.

"I approached a friend of mine. He was someone that I knew because I was a neighbour of his business premises. At that time, car dealers were facing a tough time and some were considering removing all the vehicles from the yard because of the altercations.

"I had a Prado, I sold it. I gave him Ksh1 million in cash. He told me thank you so much my brother, just take the vehicle and just pay me," he noted.

A year later, he had allegedly paid the vehicle's Ksh3.3 million.

Nonetheless, Ndolo claimed that his friend asked him for more money when he realised he was working as a communications adviser for a government official.

"After giving me valuation, he asked me to pay him an extra Ksh2.2 million in interest. You see that is totally unacceptable," he stated.

The communication enthusiast says he will not allow anyone to infringe on his rights and those of other consumers. He adds that he does not wish to destroy any Kenyan business but will not keep silent when individuals are being fleeced.
