A Nairobi court recently agreed to a deal between Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino and Felix Orinda (DJ Evolve) to have an attempted murder case against the Legislator withdrawn.
The MP had been charged with attempting to kill DJ Evolve after he allegedly shot him in the neck at popular club in the upmarket estate of Kilimani, Nairobi.
In documents seen by The Standard, the lawmaker offered the DJ seven deals.
Babu Owino offered to clear Orinda's Ksh17 million hospital bill and pay his nursing costs until he recovers fully. In addition, he promised to buy a vehicle and custom make it for the DJ.
The lawmaker also stated he would pay in advance two-year rent, water, electricity, internet and drugs costs.
Orinda was also promised that a house would be built and registered in his name and that of his parents. In addition, he would build the DJ another house in Nairobi's Utawala area.
Finally, Owino promised to set up a DJ academy for Orinda.
Following the ruling by court, the youthful MP expressed gratitude to God for seeing him through the period and further maintained that his family had formed a formidable bond with that of Orinda.
"I can just say God is so great. He has always been with me. He has never forsaken and never left me and I am thanking Him.
"There are a lot of things we agreed on medical and compensation of physical things. We agreed in the spirit of forgiveness. DJ Evolve's family is my family and mine is his. DJ Evolve is my brother forever," stated the lawmaker.
In a ruling that was delivered on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, the court maintained that Owino be prosecuted in the second count of behaving disorderly while carrying a firearm.
