The Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) has issued a statement regarding a job advert that announced mass recruitment of officers by the state corporation.
In a statement released by KWS dated Sunday, January 9, the state corporation stated that the job advert making rounds on social media was fake and should be ignored.
The agency added that fraudsters were behind the advert with the intention to fleece innocent Kenyans. According to the advert, Kenyans had been encouraged to appear for the recruitment exercise that was scheduled for January 26.
"Kenya Wildlife Service Management attention has been drawn to actions of fraudsters who are inviting job seekers for KWS recruitment. In the social media adverts, it has been purported that the exercise will be held on 26th January 2022.
"The advert is fake and deceitful. Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) management would like to inform the public that no such recruitment has been scheduled. The advert should be ignored," read the statement in part.
Additionally, the state corporation detailed ways through which Kenyans could get authenticate jobs advertised by the body.
"KWS publishes all job adverts in the mainstream media and on our website. KWS wishes to advise the general public to verify any advertisements they see on WhatsApp and social media sites by checking out the official service website," read the statement in part.
In the fake advert, it was announced that the recruitment for KWS officers would take place across all the 47 counties further adding that the recruits needed to present their academic papers.
"KWS recruitment date of selection in all counties will be Tuesday, January 26. The selection process will begin at 0800hrs.
“The entire exercise will be conducted by KWS officers transparently in all counties free of charge," read the job advert.
The statement by KWS comes after Kenyans took to social media to raise concerns over the recruitment exercise as many complained of the details which were scanty.
In November 2021, KWS was forced to issue a statement over a job advert that was making rounds of social media after some applicants revealed that they has sent Ksh500 to apply for the jobs.
